The work Manuelito Navajo Children's Home is comprised of three specific areas of service: (1) 24-hour Residential Care of disaffected and troubled children; (2) the Gallup Christian School, an accredited K-12 private school; and (3) the Mother/Child program, providing a communal living environment for single mothers and their children.  We specialize in providing outreach to children and families from the Navajo Nation, but accept children from all ethnicities and backgrounds.

Our 24-hour Residential Care program provides a stable and wholesome home environment for children who come from dysfunctional families.  Through no fault of their own, these children have faced great difficulties in life and are in desperate need of love, affection, structure, discipline, morality, spirituality, and totality of care.  Manuelito Navajo Children's Home strives to provide such a place and be a caring family for these beautiful children.

MNCH is licensed to provide 24-hour care to as many as 24 children, living within the comfortable confines of three modern houses/cottages.  Each cottage contains approximately 4,000 square feet of living space, including a central common area, large kitchen and pantry space, bedrooms (each accommodating two children), bathrooms and laundry facilities, and a private living space for the house-parents and their children.  Each cottage has comfortable and modern accoutrements and is made to feel as homey as possible.

Our 24-hour Residential Care program is staffed by loving, qualified, and responsible people dedicated to providing optimal care to the children that are brought here.  Each cottage is staffed by husband and wife house-parenting team.  These house-parents are trained and experienced in providing home care to troubled and disaffected children.  These house-parents are Godly, spiritual, and moral people who have dedicated themselves to the care of children.  These house-parents live with the children placed in their care, and they oversee the daily maintenance and operation of the home.

MNCH accepts children, ages 6 thru 17, into its 24-hour Residential Care program.  For placement of a child, please contact Darrel Henderson, Executive Director of MNCH, by calling (505) 863-5530.

MNCH is always looking for qualified house-parents.  If you are interested, please contact Darrel Henderson.

The Gallup Christian School is an accredited K-12 private school under the direction of the Manuelito Navajo Children's Home.  The school is located on the MNCH campus.  Facilities include a classroom building and a gymnasium.  The teachers and staff are all dedicated Christians and members of the Gallup Church of Christ.

The Gallup Christian School accepts enrollment of children from throughout the Gallup area, including children from the Manuelito Navajo Children's Home.  The school provides quality education using a modified A Beka Book® curriculum.  The teachers are experienced, professional, and certified.  GCS offers small class sizes and individualized instruction.  Bible classes are an integral component of the instruction at GCS and extracurricular activities are emphasized.

For more information regarding the Gallup Christian School, visit the website link, or contact Jim Christian, principle of the school.  You may call him at (505) 863-5530 or (505) 722-2007.

Our Mother/Child Program provides a residence and assistance to single mothers in need.  The program is aimed at helping struggling single mothers attain the education, counseling, life-skills, stability, and confidence to provide for their children in a responsible and wholesome way.  The concept is one of short-term care, but is tailored to address personal needs and situations.

For more information regarding the Mother/Child Program or to inquire about placement, please contact Darrel Henderson, MNCH Executive Director, at (505) 863-5530.

The work of Manuelito Navajo Children's Home is first and foremost directed at serving the individual children that come within our care and in providing the basic necessities of life to these children, including food, clothing, and shelter.  We are committed to instilling within each child self-discipline, teaching critical life-skills and mature reasoning and decision making, and providing an environment where wholesome social interaction and development can take root and grow.  We do these things from within a framework of spirituality and Christian faith and practice.
